The UN recognises 193 countries, of which 78 have elected at least one women to the position of prime minister or president. In total, 119 women have held one of those two offices. That number creeps higher when including non-UN nations; with two female leaders in Kosovo, one in Taiwan and another in North Cyprus taking the headcount to 123.
Finland is the only nation to produce four female government leaders, with eight other countries electing three. Current prime minister Sanna Marin was sworn in at the age of 34, making her the youngest world leader until Austrian chancellor Sebastian Kurz took power at the age of 31.
