Mitchell moves to Brewin Dolphin
Joss Mitchell has joined RBC Brewin Dolphin as wealth director of its 1762 proposition, which o. ers investment solutions for clients with complex needs. Mitchell spent the past four years at Gam, initially as a client director before being promoted to head up its wealth management division. He has also worked at Kleinwort Hambros and Citi during his 35-year career in the industry.
FCA’s Steward steps down next spring
Mark Steward, executive director of enforcement and market oversight at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), departs next spring. Steward joined the FCA in 2015 from the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, where he was executive director. His successor is yet to be named.
Rotheroe takes a place on Temit board
Abigail Rotheroe (pictured above, right) joined the board at Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust as a non-executive director on 1 November. She will balance the role with her non-executive directorships at Baillie Gi. ord Shin Nippon and HydrogenOne Capital. She began her career at Schroders in 1987, and was most recently investment director at Snowball.
Kingswood board adds Godfrey
The founder and former CEO of digital investing service Moola, Gemma Godfrey, has been appointed to the Kingswood board alongside Jane Millar, COO of Boring Money. Godfrey also sits on the boards of Foresters Financial, VivoPower, Saga and Oberon Investment. Millar spent 26 years at Investec Wealth and Investment before taking up her current role at Boring Money in April 2022. She has also been on the board of Weatherbys Private Bank since July.
Gilbert loosens ties with Abrdn
Assetco chairman Martin Gilbert has been asked to step down from the boards of two of Abrdn’s Luxembourg-based funds as he continues to move away from the company he founded in 1983. He has been a long-serving board member of the Aberdeen Standard Sicav II and Sicav III funds, but is now involved with competing companies. He stepped down from similar roles on the board of Abrdn-managed US funds earlier this year.

Feeney passes baton
Paul Feeney (pictured left) retired as CEO of Quilter on 31 October, after a decade in the role. He joined the company in 1998 and became CEO of the UK business in 2012. He was succeeded by Steven Levin, who has been CEO of Quilter Platform and Quilter Investors since April 2021.
Ex Rees-Mogg colleague wins govt role
Dominic Johnson, who co-founded Somerset Capital Management with Jacob Rees-Mogg in 2007, has stepped down as CEO to take up a position in government. He was named a minister of state in the Department for International Trade on 2 October. Johnson is believed to have donated as much as £250,000 to the Tory party, and he was its vice-chairman between 2016 and 2019. He has been replaced at the helm of Somerset by former COO Robert Diggle.
Sheikh exits as part of Jupiter shake-up
Talib Sheikh, head of multi-asset strategies at Jupiter, will leave his post at the end of the year as new CEO Matthew Beesley enacts his restructuring plans. Sheikh will depart at the same time as multi-asset investment manager Joseph Chapman. The FT reported in late September that 80 jobs were set to be cut by the firm as part of Beesley’s shake-up. Sheikh joined Jupiter from JP Morgan in 2018. Chapman will leave Jupiter after 12 years.
Edentree promotes Katimbo-Mugwanya
David Katimbo-Mugwanya (pictured below, left) has been promoted to the newly-created role of head of fixed income at Edentree, having been a senior fund manager since November 2020. He joined the investment manager in 2015 as a fixed-interest fund manager, following eight years at Epworth.


Quinn joins Evelyn’s Thames Valley team
Evelyn Partners has appointed Finn Quinn (pictured above, right) as an investment manager in its Thames Valley team, as the firm continues to grow its presence in southeast England. He started his career at Brooks Macdonald in 2015 and has spent seven years based in its Hampshire o. ce. He will continue to look after his existing clients as well as those introduced to him by IFAs and Evelyn’s local team of financial planners.
